A publication begins with an invitation: to ask a question, to question an established account, or to place an overlooked experience into a wider conversation.
We are creating this space because participation in intellectual life remains unevenly distributed. Academic institutions, professional networks, economic resources, and linguistic conventions help determine who gets heard. Yet knowledge of political and social life is produced far beyond those institutions, often by people encountering the consequences of power directly.
From experience to argument
Lived experience is not a substitute for analysis. It can, however, be its beginning. An unequal encounter with an institution, a contradiction at work, or a pattern in everyday life can raise questions that lead outward, toward the structures and histories that make such experiences possible.
We want to encourage writing that makes this movement: from observation toward explanation, from the particular toward the structural, and from isolated reflection toward public debate. The strongest contribution need not begin with professional credentials. It begins with intellectual seriousness and a willingness to examine one's own assumptions.
An unfinished collective project
Our scope is international, our interests interdisciplinary, and our editorial orientation open. We are especially attentive to political and economic power, culture, media, and the conditions of everyday life. We do not ask contributors to affirm a single theoretical tradition. We ask that they develop an argument carefully and remain open to scrutiny.
This is a publication still taking shape. Its character will emerge through the people who choose to write, read, question, and respond. We invite you to help shape it.
